Reach Africa Birding and Getaways have been leading small groups throughout Southern Africa for 23 years. We have a wealth of experience knowing what makes a tour memorable for our guests.

Whilst the primary objective has always been to find the “specials” of the area that we are visiting, we believe that birding must be fun and with us it really is.

Birding is not our only focus and we firmly believe that trips should provide our guests with a true wilderness experience. We accordingly pay attention to the scenic splendours of the countryside and all the fauna and flora that the area has to offer.

We venture to some of the most iconic and spectacular destinations that Southern Africa has to offer.

We have over the past 23 years been visiting the top birding spots and have an enviable record when it comes to finding the birding “specials”. We prefer to stay in comfortable “off the beaten track “accommodation as close as possible to prime wildlife and birding locations.

Small Groups

Our tours are personalised and intimate to ensure that guests enjoy the best experience

We take no more than 5 guests on each tour. All guests have a window seat at all times and our vehicle is equipped with sliding doors on both sides.

Easy exit from the vehicle for all when urgency is required to spot a special bird, ensures that nobody is left stranded inside. You may well make some new friends along the way.

No Driving

We travel in a luxury, airconditioned 4×4 VW Caravelle vehicle, driven by your dedicated guide

We collect you from your doorstep (within an 80 km radius from Johannesburg) and drop you off at home at the end of the trip. This ensures maximum convenience and safety.

Inclusive Pricing

Detailed itinerary planning and all bookings are done by us, ensuring a hassle-free experience you

Tour prices include ground transport, all meals, accommodation, dedicated guiding, entrance fees, and all specified activities. Bottled mineral water is supplied throughout the trip. All you would need to pay for would be alcoholic beverages except wine with dinner. Gratuities and items of a personal nature are for your personal cost
